Isn't this just gorgeous?
Isn't this just gorgeous?
It's an edging called "Bridesmaid"
designed by Mary Konior
She tatted it because it looks so similar
to "Black Magic" and my dear friend
knows how much I like the "Black Magic" design!
~*~
Here it is on a contrasting background
so you can have another look at it.
I just love it and it certainly
did cheer me up!
I've had it on my side table in my living
room where I can look at it from time to time.

Now, you are probably wondering
"Who is this dear friend?"
Why it's my friend from the blog
Umintsuru!

XOXO
It is absolutely beautiful! What a lovely edging.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! Welcome and thank you for stopping by! Thanks for the nice comment about my friend's tatting!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better now.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how you can always tell a Mary Konior design. Some designers manage to develop a distinctive style, and she's definitely one of them.
I love the rich colour of the thread used in the edging!! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miranda.
ReplyDeleteI would agree that Mary Konior definitely had a very distinctive way of designing that is sorely missed! I'm just glad I've been able to collect all 4 copies of her books! YAY! That was not an easy feat, either! (yes, I'm bragging, forgive me! LOL!)
Hi Tatfully yours! Isn't it a beautiful color! I am wondering what I'll use it to frame because it will look lovely framing something under some glass!
The edging looks amazing and what a wonderful friend to send you a gift to cheer you up! :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing is a good word for it, thanks, God's kid! :D She is a lovely friend to me and others! I hope you visit her blog and get to know her! Join in her giveaway too! Joy in OZ
Hi Joy! Yes, it did cheer me up...as did your visit! So glad you stopped by! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're blogging again, and good to know you're feeling better! I was delighted to hear from you, letting me know you're back.
ReplyDeleteAnd you also joined The Tatting Forums! I'm still getting used to 'navigating' over there. I'd love to have one of those epoxy shuttles!
I took some time off from my own blog the past two months - but for a happier reason of doing some traveling. It's really great to be retired, although being this age has its own challenges!
Mary's lovely "Maids of Honor" has a special place in my heart because I tatted it as the bottom border of one of my 3-D bells (very appropriate for a wedding!) It was a keepsake for my sweet niece for her wedding back in 2001(She now has two young sons!) I'm hoping to get better photos of it, as well as good photos the other bells (about 10) that I created between 1992 and 2001, using published patterns as part of the design.
I'm still trying to find out more about Mary Konior. Even though she is well known for her tatting designs, and wrote all those books (plus crochet books), we seem to know little about her life!
Welcome back to Blogland! Your posts are always enjoyable to read, and we've missed you!
Oh my, that is gorgeous! You are loved by lovely and talented people. I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to blog again. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, look, my word verif is 'mushi'!
