Here's a flash back for ya! This is going back to the 70's. 1977, to be exact. Remember those Doctor Pepper Cola commercials? "I'm a pepper, he's a pepper, she's a pepper, wouldn't you like to be a pepper, too?". I understand this had a different meaning in different cultures, but that's a whole 'nother blog post. If you don't know the commercial I'm talking about you can view this video for a 70's flashback, LOL!
Before you get too lost in that video, I'd love to announce some winners and tell you about another bloggy giveaway!

Thank you for stopping by. I'm sorry I don't have more tatting to share today, but I've spent all day in LA...shopping for tatting stuff...poor me...more on that in the next post!
Feel free to leave a comment if you feel so inclined. I'd love to hear from you! In case you're wondering about that last post, yes, it really happened...and NO, I don't tell stories like that for attention, LOL! As a matter of fact I usually refrain from sharing all the strange stories in my life, believe it or not, however, Just Go's invitation to participate in the Blogapalooza was just too intriguing!
Caio for now!

Hi Tattycat! Glad you liked the flashback. I remember drinking that cola and thinking it was wayyyy cool, LOL! The power of propaganda, oh well! What can I say? I was just a kid. Thanks for your very kind comment. You're a sweetie!
Hi Angel, thanks for visiting. I enjoyed your comment!
What in the heck is a reckie???
Hi Betzie! Thanks for commenting. That is so totally cool that you have your grandmother's lace and that you use it! Glad to hear that it has gone to someone who appreciates it. Come back anytime!
Hi Marie Antoinette, thanks for stopping by! You're a sweetie pie!
Now, Lady Shuttle Maker, do you really expect me to let you get away with calling yourself a loser? Huh? Do ya? LOL! Now, I wouldn't let anyone else get away with saying that about you so I won't let you, either. As someone who cares about you and counts you in as one of her Tatting Family I want to encourage you to speak more highly of yourself. Those kinds of words attract negativity and you've had enough...you ARE a winner in your own right and don't ever forget it!
Hi Susanne! Thanks for the congrats! I'd love to show you my stash. It's really grown this last year. It seems that the size of the stash grows proportionately to size of negativity in my life, LOL! In other words, the harder life gets, the more I tat! LOL!
Awwwww...thank, Kathi! That is a very sweet thing to say! Consider yourself hugged by me! :)
Hi Nancy, I hope we can find you a lace guild somewhere reasonably close to you. I wonder what area you live in. I know there are many lace guilds in California! Hmmmmm...what can we do to make this easier for you?!?!
Congratulations ot Laurie on winning one of your beautiful creatons:>) I went to your give-away post and the story there is so scary! Yikes! If my daughters told me something like that I would freak out! Thank goodness you ran, I am sure it couldn't have been a good place.

Karen
Hi Kathy, thanks for visiting! I don't think my sister and I told my mother. I can't really remember, but I chose to keep it to myself, pretty much (so unlike me).
Hi Jo, glad to see you're feeling better...enough to visit bloggerland! Sorry to spook ya.
Awww...Karen that is nice of you to say about Laurie. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Dawnie, thanks for visiting. I hope you do get back to creating and enjoy every minute of it!
Beautiful tatting. One day I'll try it too - but right now I'm working on my knitting and maybe felting.
Thanks for popping by.
Yahooo to Laurie!!!!
The butterflies you won are so pretty too!!
((I keep thinking about the post below...you and your sister were so lucky to get out of there!!! Gives me the heebie jeebies!!!))
Thank you, Kim Kasch. Have fun with your knitting and felting. I'd love to know if you decide you'd like to tat someday. :)
Oh, stop thinking about that awful story, Vintage Girl at Heart! That was a lllloooonnnggg time ago and no harm done, except for maybe a few nightmares when I really think about it. Bleeeaaack...I don't really like to think about it. Let's think about tatting instead, because that's a lovely productive thing in the here and now. (hugs) and please don't trouble your mind any longer.
Hi Tat!
Thanks for your sweet comments! I see you are still tatting away!! Those little butterflies are so adorable! Congrats to the winner, lucky girl... darn!
Now the Pepper song is gonna be stuck in my head, "wouldn't you like to be a pepper tooooooo"?
Hugs, Sherry
I came across your site while visiting Fraker Farm. I crochet so can appreciate the effort going into tatting. Thanks for sharing. I'm going on over to the butterfly site - they are very pretty.
LOL! Sorry about the song getting stuck in your head, Sherry! Oopsy. It was just going through my mind when I wrote the title. I'm not sure what the deal is with the last few posts being "song inspired" but that's how it's been, LOL! Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Thistledew Farm! Welcome and thanks for stopping by from Paula's! I love your photo of the thistle! There is a famous tatted doily that has a beautiful thistle motif. You'd probably like it! Come by any time!
Those butterflies are dreamy! Looks like they could flick right off the screen!
I'll try to be a good sport.. congrats, Laurie!!
So nice to see you. I remember that jingle from the Dr. Pepper commercial. Lucky Laurie and Congrats to her. She also won my anniversary giveaway in August.
Love your tatting, you are so talented and make it look easy. Always beautiful!
Have a nice eveing.
Celestina
la rea rose
How lovely - what will you do with the butterflies. Have you displayed lots of tatting on your walls?
Now, I can help you out with Angel's answer... a 'reckie' is English slang for checking something over - so, she means she's going back to take a look!
Big congratulations to your winner. And thank you for all the lovely comments you leave on my posts - your last comment about being your mom did make me smile!
Now I'm going to have that song in my head all day LOL
Congratulations to the winners!!
Have a great day :)
rue
I'm still a winner because you're still here! :). Just dropping by to tell you I'm thinking of you today!
Prayers and hugs,
Kathi :)
Congrats to your winner...LOVE your tatting, they are sweetest butterflies...such pretty ice cream colors! Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))
Hi Becky, thanks. Didn't she do a lovely job on the butterflies?
Awww...Paula, LOL! I feel the same way when there's a giveaway. Chin up, Laurie doesn't have your beautiful silkies! They're so cute! ;)
Thank you for your lovely comment, Celestina! Always so nice to have you stop by when you have the time.
Hi Lace Hearts, I have an idea with the butterflies that I think i will show you all later! They have to get here first. She was gracious enough to let me use the picture from her blog to show what I had won. Thank you for the quick lesson in British Slang. I feel more knowledgeable now, except now I'm curious as to how "reckie" came to be slang for checking something out...what word is it derived from, I wonder!?!
Hi Rue, thanks for stopping by! I always appreciate your visits.
Awwwww....that is very sweet, Kathi!
Hi Tracy! Glad to have you for a visit. Thanks for the comment.
Lucky Laurie. She's one of my favorite blogs too.
And, btw, now I have that little tune in my head. :) Thanks for the fun flashback.
Hi again TattingChic......... SORRY for the confusion *blush*... Reckie comes from the word Reconicence, ie a soldier would go on a Reckie [Reconicence] to make sure there was no snipers....
Hope i have not confused you even more. *smile*
Love and hugs. X x X
I love winning! Great give aways!
Hi Tatting Chic,
I remember that commercial. Now I can't get the jingle out of my head.
Thank you very much-hehe.
Congrats to Laurie-Yay!!!
Have a wonderful evening.
hugs,
Barb
Hi Cathy, thanks for stopping by!
Oh, Angel, thank you. No, I'm not at all confused by that. As a matter of fact, I find origins of word and phrases intriguing. So this is like what we'd say here across the pond, "I'll go scout it out" like a scout from a war camp checking out what's ahead... or spying...just like your "reckie". Fascinating! Thank you for teaching me somehting new!
Hello, Meredith Teagarden, thanks for visiting again! Welcome back anytime.
Hi Barb, sorry to plant the tune in your head, LOL! I do hope it doesn't stay too long...unless you find it pleasant. Glad you made a visit here in my neck of the woods.
Oh Laurie is such a sweetie, I am so glad she won!
Thank you, Amy. Yes, Laurie is a sweetie, isn't she.
