SRE! Here I come!

The Ribbonsmyth has announced their winners for the April giveaway and I won a fabulous prize of Silk Ribbon, trims and embellishments! I've been wanting to get started in SRE (silk ribbon embroidery) and CQ (Crazy Quilting) for such a long time! This is my chance! I cannot tell you how excited I am! I received my fabulous stash earlier this month.

May I show you the "goods"?

~*~

There are samples of beautiful fabric and lace. Some beautiful samples of lovely silk ribbons.
Some goodies to show off my finished work on as well as embellishments.
Some buttons, sequins and bits and bobs to do embellishing!
Thank you, Vickie from The Ribbonsmyth!
I love my prize!

~*~

Thanks for letting me share my goodies with you! I'm looking forward to using them sometime. First I have to get some tatting UFO's turned into FO's and then I can start on learning a new skill! I'm also working on tatted gifts and swaps so those come first! PRIORITIES! LOL!

I'm glad you stopped by. If you are interested in winning giveaways all you have to do is enter! You don't have a chance if you don't comment. Speaking of which, a Vintage Touch is having a fabulous giveaway where she will paint any of your favorite object (excluding people-she's not offering portraits) as the giveaway prize! Isn't that cool! If you win you just need to send her a photo and she'll paint it. I think I'd send a photo of some of my tatting with a shuttle if I won. What would you want her to paint?

Just click on the badge above to visit her blog or click on this link and enter the giveaway. I'd love to hear from you before you run over there! Be sure to say hello!

Luv,

XOXO

SRE is so much fun. I have a vest that I decorated years ago with SRE and it's held up (with some care, naturally). I can't wait to see what you make.

I love SRE! One of those things I dabbled in a long time ago and wanted to do more of but didn't have time. Lucky you! What a fabulous prize!

Thank you for your visit and sweet comment! I haven't tatted in years. Have you heard of Mike Myers and Georgia Seitz? Great, great tatters. I have a little pattern in one of Georgia's books.

Thank you, Melissa! I'm glad you are happy for me winning this. Thank you, really!

Hi Linda, thanks for the congrats! Luck seems to go in spurts with the blog giveaways, it's funny!

I like that, Diane. It is an inspirational stash. I think Ribbonsmyth sure does a nice job of putting things together with their fabrics and ribbons. The fabrics are absolutely GORGEOUS! It's so tempting to DIG RIGHT IN, but I HAVE to get some swap stuff done!

Hi Sewicked, thanks for stopping by! Your vest sounds lovely. Thank you for the encouragement with the new skill. I'm excited about the prospects.

Hi there, Singtatter! I'll be sure to post something once it's done...it may be a while, though!

Hi Gina. I'd love to see some of your SRE. You probably have some in your older blog post, huh? I think it's a good combination for tatting "mistakes", LOL!

Hi Carla! I certainly have heard of Mark Meyers and Georgia Seitz! Georgia has a wonderful site and she does the online tatting class. Mark's fabulous website is down right now due to a problem with the server it was on, but he's got a new blog and some people have found his old pages via "The Way Back Machine". Oh, that is neat that you used to tat! I have some of each of their books.
I'm so glad you took the time to visit. You're such a sweetie to send that stash to the lady who got forgotten in her swap!

Thanks, Beckie! I appreciate your faith in me!

Thank you, Becky Ramsey. The lace does kinda look like fairy wings, doesn't it? Cool!

Ann, I couldn't agree more about SRE, CQ, and tatting! They really complement each other and I love CQ blocks that utilize them with other lovely embellishments, too! I can't WAIT! Oh, I WILL wait...gotta get other stuff done FIRST! LOL!

Thank you, Lynn! It will be fun to dabble in them!

You are most welcome, Lara Harris! Thank you for having a giveaway and thanks for the good luck wishes.

Hi Yarnjourney. I look forward to putting the 3 arts together!

LOL! Thanks, Rosemary! You are sweet. We are all winners, aren't we? You are the 3rd person on my blog who has told me to go and get a lottery ticket, LOL!

Good one, Lady Shuttlemaker! I like that word.

Hi, Tattycat! That sounds really uncomfortable...so get off of those pins and needles right now! LOL! It'll be awhile before I make sumpin' cuz I gotta get some swap stuff done first!

Hi Gerry, thank you! I will be sure to share once I make something.

You won again??? I do believe your record is better than mine! Congratulations!

Ooooh. Have fun with SRE! I tried doing some SRE a few years ago and found it to be a lot of fun. I didn't pursue it, because I had no idea what to do with the finished projects! After all, I already have a box of lace that just sits there, but CQ take up more space than lace. It sure is pretty and fun to do though!

Unknown said...

Hi!
I think you have a nice blog, beatiful photos and smart posts.I'm wating your visit.

Unknown said...

LOL! I dunno, Thimbleanna! I'm on a roll right now! The good luck in blog-land comes in spurts.

Yes, Mica, I guess that CQ does take up a lot more space than lace! Lace is one of those "Icing-on-the-cake" things with CQ! Thanks for visiting!

Hi KINHA! Thank you for coming over and leaving a comment. I appreciate your kind words about my photographs and blog posts. I enjoyed visiting your blog. Lovely things there!

Thank you, Lori! I will be sure to show you all when I make something!

Hi Fox! I wonder what I'm going to make next, too! I mean with the stash. I know what I am going to do next in tatting.

Thanks, Heather! Thank you for welcoming me to CQ-ing! If you can recommend any tips to this newbie I am open to suggestions!

Hi Twyla! Thanks for your faith in my not-yet-honed abilities with SRE. I think your dog would look really cute painted up.

Thanks, Lili M!

Hi TC, Thanks for visiting my blog. I obviously have just met a VERY GIFTED blog friend. Congrats!!!!!

I have a good friend who is a quilter. She loves to show off her 'stash'---and what she can find to do with it.

I have NO talents in these areas... BUT--I can offer you a gorgeous yard (roses, lilies, tulips, etc.).... AND--I enjoy following my backyard birds. AND--my hubby and I travel and hike---and we love to scope our waterfalls. Come back to my blog anytime.

Hugs,
Betsy

I have not met anyone else who tats. I have about 10 shuttles, five of which are from each of my grandmothers and my great grandmother.

I learned once, and I'd like to refresh my memory. Where would I go to do that? My email is Beth@niquette.net.

Lovely post. Happy PFF!

Hi Beth! Thank you for visiting! It's always so nice to "meet" another tatter online! I hope you got my email okay!

You will find there is a large online tatting community so I hope you join us!

Please feel free to come back and visit often!
Sincerely,
TattingChic
