Thank You Gifts

Recently I made a couple of crafty purchases online. I want to share them with you because not only are the goodies cute and fun, but one of them is tatting related! One thing that made these purchases especially memorable was the fact that the dealers chose to include a thank you gift with them!

~*~
May I Show you?
Firstly,
this is a mixed media collage entitled
"Sweetheart Collage"
Any guesses as to why I purchased it, LOL?
(Tongue planted firmly in cheek, here)
Maybe it was the...

TATTING!
You may wonder why I would purchase a piece of art with
tatting in it when I am a perfectly good tatter, myself.
I know that sound braggy, but it's not meant that way.
I mean, why would someone buy something that they could just
make themselves?

I bought it because I love the message that
this mixed media art piece
calls out to me. It's on a piece of handwriting
on top of an old book cover...a book of poems, no less.
I love to write poetry!
I love hearts.
I love vintage things.
This work of art has an old tin ceiling tile for the "frame"!
It's just beautiful!
It is also a PERFECT example of a unique
and beautiful way to use our tatted motifs to make
a lovely work of art with things we love!
We don't have to stick with the "same old-same old"
ways of displaying tatting if we don't want to.

I think this artist has something special.

Her name is Lorraine.
I found it at her Etsy shop
called Sweet Pumpkins.
(She is participating in the
That is how I came across her
and her lovely work and Etsy shop.)

She included this beautiful,
one of a kind business card with the gift.
See?

I was pleasantly surprised to find this!
It's a thank you gift!

Inside was a hand made book.

The pages are manila tags!!!

Thank you, Lorraine! I love it!
I love the collage and the thank you gift!

~*~

My second purchase was some cookie cutters.
What do cookie cutters have to do with tatting?
Well, a tatter has to eat, doesn't she!? ;)

I happen to collect cookie cutters.
I love to do other hobbies besides tatting.
Some of those hobbies are cookie and cake baking
along with decorating with icing!
I'm an old fashioned buttercream icing fan!
This hobby could be whole 'nother blog post!
In fact, it could take a whole 'nother blog! LOL!

I happened be browsing the shop of a
very good bloggy friend when
I found these!!!

CROWN COOKIE CUTTERS!

I LOVE crowns!!!
So, of course I snatched them up!
She included this lovely charm pendant
as a thank you gift!
Look what's on the back!!!
A CROWN!!!

Thank you, Barb!
You are a sweet bloggy friend and I appreciate you!
You may recognize her blog called
~*~
Thank you for stopping by and letting me show you the thank you gifts I received from two lovely and talented ladies. You may even want to stop by and get to know them and their work. Before you run off to see their stuff I'd love to hear what you think of the goodies! I'm such a show-off, LOL! Aren't we all, though? Isn't that what blogging is about...
showing off and sharing with our friends!? LOL! You guys are fun! I enjoy the friendships I have with so many of you and I enjoy your many, wonderful talents! Thank you for sharing with me, too!
Cordially,
~TattingChic

Soooo many lovelies, TattingChic! Thanks for showing/sharing with us! I just love that collage at the top, and that clever little book with tag pages...oh, and those crown cookie cutter...be still my heart! ;o) Happy Days with your new treats...and happy weekend ((HUGS))

I love your purchases. The "framed" piece is just too pretty for words.
I, too, buy other stitcher's work. Just because I stitch doesn't mean I don't appreciate what other people do. They may have a unique way of finishing it or their stitching just may be something that appeals to me.
And yes, I love surprise "gifts when I buy something!

what great stuff...i LOVE that collage...i discovered that girl while visiting the OWOH giveaways...i love her style...what nice gifts she sent you too...

The gifts were nice, weren't they? Hope you have a wonderful Sunday, too.

Hello again to the Victorian Parlor! Thank you for visiting and letting me share with you! Come again soon!

Hi, Tracy! Thankyou so much for coming by so I could show you my "new toys"! LOL!

You hit the nail on the head, Donna! Yes, the way this artist did something with the tatted motif was something I never would've done! I might do something like that now! She doesn't tat, incidentally, but she sure makes some lovely collages.

Lori! Thank you! I was pulling my hair out trying to remember how I came across her! It was her blog post for OWOH! See, now I need to find her blog again...since there's 950 of them for OWOH...it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, LOL! Maybe she will comment and I can find it that way, LOL! :)

Hi Linda, thanks for stopping by! Well, you know the old addage...great minds think alike, LOL! ;)

The mixed media art piece is just wonderful. She is very talented to come up with such a collection of items make the perfect piece of art. A great piece of inspiration.

Thanks for visiting me. Your purchases on this post are beautiful. And, I saw that you are participating in the One World, One Heart. I would love to enter for your gift; however, I'm not the least bit talented in the 'crafts' area. IF I were fortunate enough to win, I would feel guilty for depriving a 'crafty' person of the wonderful things you are offering. So, just know that I will be back to see you and whatever you are creating!

That is just beautiful! and the extra's are such a nice surprice huh?
Have a great week!

Tatting Chic, thank you for posting my collage
(now yours)on your pretty blog. Your comments are so kind and thank you to your readers who said such nice things as well. Makes a girl feel kind of special!
This blog community is so welcoming and inspiring. Contrary to everyday news, there are such good good people in this world. Thank you so much and I will stop by your blog. Keep on tatting! "

Hi Bella Sinclair, you are right, it IS nice to find something that "speaks to you". SPeaking of which, I couldn't done a better job of finding something like that when it comes to you illustrations in the previous post...thank you for them...AGAIN!

Thank you very much, Cielo!

Thanks, Rachel. Sweet comment.

Right, Alaura. Not to many sellers do send a thank you gift anymore. It really brightens things up when they do. Makes you want to go back for more, LOL!

Hi Carolyn, yes, I guess it is (I'm embarassed to admit, LOL). It is nice to get something that makes my heart go "all aflutter", LOL!

I'm with you, Tattycat! I never would've thought to put my tatting in a collage just like that...or make that book or charm...they're all so lovely.

Thank you, Clyde! It IS a great piece of inspiration, isn't it? That is exactly why I showed it off. I wanted to inspire those of us who tat to possible use their tatting in some unorthodox, yet striking ways.

Thank you for visiting, Betty. I hope you do come back often.

Hi Lorena, thank you. Yes, the extras were a nice surprise.

Thanks, Suzie.

Hi, Sharon D, yes, I guess in a way it is recycling. It's a "green" mixed media collage of sorts, isn't it? LOL!

Thank you, Rebecca Ramsey. I guess so, huh!?

Hi Bumblevee, thank you for your nice comment. It's a treasure to me.

Thank you, Kelly! Your comment is like a little ray of sunshine in and of itself!

Hello, Paperbird, well you deserve each and every bit of praise the commenters are giving. It's all true! Your (my) collage is lovely. Thank you for creating. it. Yes, the blogging community is a lovely place to visit. I'm grateful to be a part of it. It has really enriched my life.

Those were marvelous purchases! I also include little thank you gifts when someone purchase something from Lavender Hill Studio. I love receiving special treatment when I purchase something. It is so much more fun to buy something from a small business than a big box store.

Oh, Penny, thank you for coming to visit! Well, that is a lovely gesture on your part to include a gift w/ purchase. Your artwork is absolutely gorgeous and a gift in itself!

Hi, Shabby Addict! Yes, it was an Etsy shopping spree of sorts. Actually, it wasn't too bad compared to some of the Hand Dyed Thread sprees I've been on at that Etsy place, LOL!

Oh, Vicki C, aren't they adorable! I look forward to making some cute cookies with them!

Hi Lace Hearts. Time for baking!??? Who said I had time for baking...time for shopping for cookie cutters...now THAT's a different story, LOL! I'm just getting "prepared" for when the day comes again that I have time for baking, LOL!

Hi Connie. Glad you like the collage. :)

Thank you, Barbara! I hope you do visit Paper Bird's blog and shop and I do also hope that you visit often.

Hi Barb, keep me posted on the situation! Thanks for taking the time to come and visit. You are a dear bloggy friend.

Ah, yes, Rosemary!!! The queen of crowns! Barb might have a set or two of those crown cookie cutters left if you scoot over to her shop fast enough!

Thank you, Maryjane! Isn't the tag book adorable?

Hi Kids Napping? I'm Scrapping! I do still have stamps left and I do still stamp on occasion... my rubber stamp collection truly rivals my tatting stash! It's shameful! They are all wooden stamps...I still haven't gotten into the "in" thing with the space efficient acrylic stamps...sigh!

Thank you, Nancy! Yes, what's not to love about a fabulous surprise of a thank you gift!

Hi Gina, thank you for visiting and leaving a sweet comment.

Like the drawings they're even better in person.

I've gone and picked a better name than EssieEllen for my tatting. I'm now going to be SnapdragonLace on Etsy and (as soon as I get it changed) on etatters. Thanks for the etatters recommendation. I can see myself spending too much time on that site. When I signed up on Etsy with the new name I put you down as my referral. I don't know if that gets you anything, but there you go!

Hi Gerry, that Etsy is a big neighborhood, LOL! I guess I got lucky finding the first artist. Barb is a blogging friend so I knew her blog before I knew her shop.

Thank you, Kathy! I really appreciate your sweet comment.

LOL! Farm Chick Paula, thank you for letting me share my goodies (that I didn't make) with you.

Hi, Jessica. I like Snapdragon Lace. Very nice name. I don't know what a being a referral gets me, either!

Thanks for stopping by, Tinker! Hope to see you again sometime here for a visit.

Thank you, Reen. I was hoping the necklace holder would look nice next to the collage. I'm glad you like it.
