Some Butterflies Flew In From Singapore

You May recall that a few blog posts ago I mentioned winning a giveaway from Umi & Tsuru.
The butterflies have arrived!

~*~

May I show you?

In a note included with the lovely winged friends
I was asked to share what I'm doing with them.
***
Since I am not a Crazy Quilter I won't be using them
for a CQ Square as I see so many tatted butterflies
being used as embellishment these days.
***
I'm also particular about the jewelry I wear;
you won't be seeing me wear much tatted jewelry.
I did pick up a glass pendant case at Lace Day last weekend
to put bits of tatting in.
Now, THIS I will wear!

Look how versatile this little pendant case is with
the bits of tatting!

I can "mix n' match" my butterflies to coordinate with different outfits!!!

I think it will be great with a T-shirt and Jeans...
any T-shirt of any color can be dolled up with these butterflies!
How cute are they?
~*~
Next,
I thought I'd also share with you some shuttles
I got at Lace Day last weekend.
NEW TOYS:
Top: Tatsy clear post shuttle
Left: Coconut Celtic post shuttle (see how narrow it is)
2nd Left: Abalone post shuttle
Middle: Dymondwood post shuttle
2nd Right: Wooden GR8 bobbin shuttle
Right: Horn post shuttle with beautiful etching of a Pheonix
this one was gifted to me by Lily Morales, Thanks Lily ;)

~*~

Thank you for letting me share some of my new goodies with you. Feel free to leave a comment as they are always welcome. I love hearing what you have to say. My bloggy friends have enriched my life in such a pleasantly unexpected way! Thank you all for being my friends!
Love n' stuff,
~TattingChic

What a great idea, I did not realise you could change the butterflies in the frame. Now you can match it to what you wear. I'm really happy you can enjoy it this way.

YAY! Wendy, I'm so glad you like what I'm going to do with them. I bought the frame with tatting something up in mind and then when your butterflies "flew in" the lightbulb went on in my head! It's sort of like a see-through locket! :)

Melissa said...

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Our minds DO think alike...we must be great eh? LOLLLLLLLLLL I just bought a couple of those pendants the other day from etsy!!!!!! I'm going to put one of the hearts in it for Amanda because her heart is falling apart since she touches it and wears it everyday! It's truly a compliment that it is getting worn and I told her that I would make her another when she showed me what was happening all sad! Then I had the idea for those glass pendants, but I'll show her first to see if she would like that...if she doesn't I'm thinking of Varnish......HAHAHAAAAAA no really!!!

O.K. I am pretty sure I NEED one of those pendent cases! How cool!

What a lovely little case...and the little butterflies are lovely. Such pretty colors. Love your shuttles...Very unique. Hope you have a wonderful week.

Thank-you so much for visiting.

What a neat idea for the butterflys! And it saves sewing them on to anything. Thanks for sharing your new shuttles, do you mind if I drool?

Unknown said...

YES, fabulously great people like us DO think alike, Melissa! LOL! That is a great solution for Amanda's heart! I just hope it fits! You may want to consider super-gluing the pendant case closed if it is just for the heart only and she has a habit of playing with her necklaces. I fear the case will open while being worn and the lovely heart may be lost. That would be TRAGIC!

YES! Yes, Lady Shuttle Maker, you NEED one, LOL! ;)

It's always a pleasure to visit your blog, Nancy! Thank YOU for stopping by and leaving a comment!

Drool away, Tattrldy! I'm so glad you find my new shuttles "drool-worthy", LOL! Isn't that case the coolest! It was such a timely purchase with Wendy's butterflies coming at the same time!

T.Allen said...

I just bought pendant cases today...I'm all thumbs when it comes to anything involving thread, but those gorgeous little butterflies are certainly tempting!

Unknown said...

That little case pendent is a great idea and I can see where you will get a lot of use out of it. Now about the shuttles. I have a bone to pick with you. You have set me back months in my therapy.Just when I thought my therapist had just about cured me of my horrible case of shuttle envy you just had to show me a bunch of wonderful shuttles didn't you.At this rate I will never get over it. Oh well I guess I will just have to learn to live with it.

Gina said...

Oh you ARE so lucky or such a very good creator of luck!!!!

Hi, TattingChic! This is sooo neat...love that little frame! That would so great for showing off lace, ribbons flowers, all sorts--and ideal for tatted little beauties. I adore these tatted butterflies...they are sooo lovely. They are full of life! Your new toys are such fun...I know what you'll be doing this week--tatting and swapping butterflies in that frame--LOL! ;o) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))

You were very lucky to win the butterflies. I love the pendant you found in which you can put them. It will be a great way to wear them and expose more people to tatting. How clever. The shuttles are wonderful!

Kathleen Grace said...

Adorable! I make charms but I have never seen the little cases that open:>)

Unknown said...

I love your beautiful butterflies. This skill really has me mesmerized. Honestly, before I read your blog I didn't even know what a shuttle was. I love painting lace, and I have books and saved magazines which I use when I paint. Congratulations on your win. Will you be sharing things on the 21st at my Christmas Fair? I'll be having another giveaway on that day.
Have a Beautiful Day!

Hi Clyde. I don't know what to say,..."I'm sorry"??? "Get well, soon"!??? "LOL"!???

Hi Gina, sometimes I'm blessed, that's all...or yeah, very lucky when it comes to bloggy giveaways. If I was a creator of fabulous luck my life would be VERY different. I only buy into that theory sooo much.

Thanks Tracy, Yes, if I was a lady of leisure then tatting and switching butterflies in a frame is exactly what I'd be doing, since I'm not I don't know if I'll have time for that, but it's a nice thought! LOL!

Thak you, Tattycat. I look forward to wearing the pendant when I can find the chain, LOL! Thanks for the nice comment about the shuttles.

Hi Kathleen Grace, some people have told me they've gotten them on Etsy as of late. I got mine somehwere else so I'm glad to see they are accessible elsewhere, too!

Hi Karen, I thinks it's wayyyy cool that you are interested in learning more about tatting! Tell me more about this Christmas Fair on the 21st! I would think it would be a neat thing to participate in!

Hi Kathi, thanks for the award! I saw it on your blog before I read your comment, believe it or not, LOL! It looks like a fun and interesting tag-set of rules that comes with it...I've already found the closest book to me so hmmmmm...

Hi Becky, thanks for visiting. I'm so glad you find the time to stop by 'midst lurking through mossy graveyards and scaring up scarecrows and such, LOL! ;)

Thanks, Farm Chick Paula. Glad you like the pendant case and butterflies. :)

Thank you, Suzie!

I had hoped that I could control the drooling today, and this is the first blog of the day, and there are those butterflies, then there are those shuttles. I think I need to tatt a bib!

Linda said...

I love the pendant case! How fun to change out your butterfiles to match different outfits. I especially like the look of the three butterflies together.

Pretty new shuttles, enjoy. Hugs, Linda

Hello, Elisadud! Thank you for visiting back. So kind of you to write in English. I'm glad you understood my comment on your blog. I am in awe of your beautiful work!

Hi Stitchy McFloss! What a cute name. Thanks for visiting and I appreciate nice comment.

Thank you for visiting, Virtual quilter. A tatted bib wouldn't catch much drool, but it would look pretty! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by, Linda. Always enjoy your sweet comments!

Love those butterflies and the locket idea.....where do you find something like that? It would make such a nice personal christmas gift :)

Barb said...

Hi Miss Tattingchic,

Jet setter here-hehe.
You have won some fab giveaways.
Those butterflies are so tiny- how do they do that (you too)?

Serious travel days like that are over. The company I worked for (Clinique) was based in NYC. I was grateful that it allowed me to support my family but I disliked being gone so much of the time. The good thing was all those FFmiles. I guess God had it planned the way it was to be.

hugs,
Barb

Welcome, Mary Isabella and Kiley too! I'm glad you found my blog and I hope you come back often!

Thanks, Nancy. The frame was a great find.

Hi Tamara Jansen. Thanks for visiting. The pendant case I got at lace day from a lace vendor called Provo Lace supply and I have no contact information for them. THey have no website and a couple of people have commented they got some. I'm sure if you contact them on their blogs they would tell you where they got it.

Hi Barb! That would be difficult to travel so much when you have a family. It is nice that you had the opportunity to see so many nice places and support your family. Your Haute chocolate photos were fun! LOL!

Hi tattingchic! I just wanted to pop in and see what you've been up to, since I FINALLY have a day off of work. I am soooo jealous of the tatting days pictures. I used to go to cross-stitch festivals, but haven't found anything close enough for tatting, so I'm limited to mail order. Oh, to be able to stroll up and down the aisle and fondle all of the gorgeous stuff. Then to shop, shop, shop, and drift off to sleep in a pile of new loot. . . !

LOL! Hi Joy, it's good to have you back in blogger land! Your comment made me chuckle. Ya know, after a day at one of those lace shows the excitement of it all is rather exciting. I almost did drift off to sleep on the drive home surrounded by the loot. I was a passenger of course! LOL!

Hi Scintilla, thank you! I hope you come back often for some "eye candy"! :)

Great post! ...and a fun gift that you sent to Laurie @ Ch.Designs. I love looking at your stuff and it also inspires me to want to dive into tatting. We'll see what the future may hold - for now I'll just slide snippets of it here and there into my own designs. blessings!
