Happy New Year!!!

Out with the old and in with the New! New Year, that is! Welcome 2oo9! Good-bye 2008! Ah, I look forward to the new year with an abundance of hope for something better! 2008 kicked my butt! How about yours? Is anyone else's behind sore from the buttkicking year of 2008? LOL! You think I'm kidding! This year has been hard, but I'm not bitter! LOL! ;)

Let's get our minds off our sore bumbs and look at some pretty tatting shall we?
~*~
Like the December Snowflake
from Fairiebees!

Thank You, Fairiebees!

You may recall that I did a blog post
earlier this month about
from Fairiebees!
***
She says she will be sending the winners
a snowflake a MONTH for a whole year!
***
I love it!
Let's take a closer look,
shall we?

She says this is called

"Cherub's Wing Snowflake"

It is done with 2 shuttles in size 30 thread.

Thank you, Fairiebees!

Isn't it pretty?

Doesn't your bottom feel better now?
LOL!
~*~
Happy New Year to you all! I hope you are enjoying ringing in the New Year! Some of you will have already by the time this is posted! I mentioned earlier that I am not bitter! No, really I am not bitter because 2008 was the year of the blog for me! When things got tough I started blogging. I have never really gotten into blogging before this year and I am so glad I did! My life has been greatly enriched by all the wonderful blogging friends I have made! Thank YOU! I appreciate the friendships I have developed over this year through blogging! I remember posting my very first post and I wondered if even 1 person would look at my blog! Well, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that more than 1 person has and I have enjoyed every comment and all the wonderful visitors! Thank you so much for blessing my life with your joy and encouragement! I have enjoyed visiting many of your blogs as well! Have an absolutely fabulous 2009. May the new year bring us all love, joy, prosperity, good health and peace!
Sincerely,
~TattingChic

Making a mental note to pick up a tatting shuttle and a spool of tatting thread(bobbin? ball? skein? what DO you call a "thing" of tatting thread??) next time I'm in town. I understand there are some good tutorial videos online.

Hi Sweet Chic!

I am in total awe of your tatted angel tree topper! ABSOLUTELY beautiful!! I think it's the prettiest angel I've ever seen because you can see the love put in every stitch.

The snowflakes are so lovely too. I've always loved snowflakes for the uniqueness they represent. And yours are quite incredible!

Happy New Year and may God bless ALL of us with LOTS of PROSPERITY in 2009!! Big hugs, Sherry

Thank you, Betzie! I hope you stop by often this year!

Oh, Karla! Good for you! Yup,it's a "ball of thread" and a tatting shuttle and you're good to go. Get a larger size thread. I always recommend crochet cotton size 10 because a larger size is easier to work with! Many people who have taught themselves by using online resources have told me that YouTube has some very useful vids! Oh, this is so exciting! I feel like a proud tatting mama, LOL!

Thank you, Karen! You are a dear blogging friend and I've really enjoyed getting to know you! ((Hugs)) to you!

Thank you so very much, Bella SInclair! You are a doll! I'm glad we've become blogging friends and I'm looking forward to getting to know you better in 2009!

Lorena, may we both have a fabulous year! Thank you for all your fab posts and commments!

Thank you for your sweet comments about my tatting, Sherry! Oh, yes, PROSPERITY for all, that is a fabulous thought for 2009! May it be realized!

Very cool, Fiber Focus! I look forward to it and I'm interested in knowing the angle you have!

Oh, Dear Verito! It's so nice to have you back on the blog scene! I hope it is for a long time! Don't be a stranger! Come visit often! I miss you!

Becky, you are such a doll! I have enjoyed EVERY single post...except that one that grossed me out...was it spiders??? Was that the one...? Yeah, don't ever do spiders AGAIN, but OTHER than that one I LOVED EVERY SINGLE POST! You are a gifted writer and lovely blogging friend. Oh, and I love your book, too! Thanks for you comments on my blog too. Reciprocity is important in a friendship and you are fabulous at that.

Thank YOU, Victoria Lynn. Here's to many more blog visits between the two of us in 2009!

Hi Alice W! Thank you, come back often in 2009, okay?

Thank you, Valerie! Yes, good luck with your blog in the upcoming year! I think that the fabulous tatting bloggers have taught me (by example) that the secret to a great tatting blog is to POST consistently and regularly and LOTS of tatting pictures...everybody loves eye candy! That's about it! Easy, aye?

Yes, Cindy, we get one every month for a WHOLE YEAR! Isn't if fabulous? I really think I'm going to have to get that feather tree!!! Hee hee! Your beautiful photo of your snowflake on my blog inspired me to take better pictures of Fairiebees' snowflakes each month!

Hi Carolyn! Thank you for sharing your sweet friendly sentiment with me! Hope to see you many times in 2009...both on your blog and on visits to mine!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my new year's day post. I enjoy your blog too! I love to see the beautiful things that you make, and wish I could make them too. One of these days, I will pick up Aunt Josie's shuttle ...

LOL! Thank you Denise! You are a sweet blog friend.

Hi Margie! Thanks for your sweet comment. Oh, yes, when I made that comment I chuckled to myself right after I pushed "publish" I just remembered right THEN, of course, that she was your Great Aunt, not your Aunt. Ah, well. Nevertheless, it would be WONDERFUL if you learned to tat with her shuttle (or any shuttle for that matter). THat would be really sweet! She would be so proud of you and it is NEVER too late!

Oh, Angela Harris! I do hope you learn tatting! THat would be awesome! Looking forward to the pretty little things you will make with you tatting shuttle...that is, assuming you learn shuttle tatting, LOL!

Thank you so much, Stitchy McFloss! Your comment is really, truly very touching. I needed that just now! Thank you.

Hello, Martha! Thank you! Hope to see you again sometime soon!
