A Bit of Magic Came in the Mail Today.....

Isn't it pretty?
It's the Friendship Inspired Crazy Quilt Block.
It came in the mail today from Melissa over at HoneyBeesBliss.

Let me take you on a little tour of this beautifully
stitched square of pure magic
.
Look at the beautiful detail;
.
the lovely tatting with beads stitched inside of
the rings of the Hens and Chicks edging
that Melissa tatted herself.

and the beautiful Silk Ribbon Embroidery stitched on the
cloverleaves of vintage tatted lace.

The crystal teardrop beads hang sweetly nestled
twixt the hanging flowerbells with peals of pearl.

The simple row of tatted lace
from a vintage hankie she acquired from somehwere.
The simple, yet very sweet, touch of handmade lace lends
an unknown story of whence it came.

The pearly heart...a sweet symbol of friendship

floats atop a soft sea of velveteen.

Let me take you to the "heart" of the square

lest we forget our angel in the center, because,

after all,

tatting is The Lace of Angels !

The glass beads stitched so sweetly atop the

silk ribbon roses embroidered on the

beaded lace swag

Can you see them?

.

A lacy flower peeks out

'neath golden threads of beaded stitching

.

Golden flowers with glass pearls afloat

in a sea of pearls, tiny silk roses, and vintage wedding lace.

And last, but not least,

Melissa's signature,

The Honey Bee...

Melissa means "Honey Bee"

A printed label marks the occasion of a
Friendship Inspired Exchange

of handmade goodies

accompanied by an uplifting card

with sweet sentiments of

a friendship inside
.

Thank You, Melissa!

I couldn't be happier.

I hope you get your package soon.

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, this concludes our tour of the Friendship Inspired CQ Square handmade by Melissa. I hope you enjoyed your stay and comments can be left in the comment box....

Thank you for the tour of your very special CQ friendship block! Melissa's work is stunning, but it's been made even more special through your very descriptive tour!

TattingChic said...

Thank you, Lace Lovin Diane, it was a pleasure to give you the tour...would have been funner to do it in person, but this will have to do for now... :)

Bonnie said...

I agree with Diane, I thought the CQ friendship block was beautiful when I saw it on HoneyBeesBliss' blog, your highlighted tour made it even more stunning!

TattingChic said...

Oh, thank you, Bonnie. I tried to do it justice. A photo just doesn't show it's true beauty and I really wanted to share how lovely it really is with everyone.

Melissa said...

LOL I LOVE your tour! You are so sweet! It is hard to photograph huh!?! I'm glad you love it and it makes me giddy that you notice all the little details! Now I need to check my mail again and see if your wonderful tatting is HERE YET!!!!!! I can't Wait!

TattingChic said...

Oh, good, I'm glad you like the tour, Melissa. You are right a photograph just doesn't do it justice. I'm still noticing things that just don't "show" in the photos even tho' I think the "tour" for sure gives a better idea of what it really looks like. There is sooooo much amazing detail.
I hope you get your tatting from me today!!!

Melissa said...

Still not here! So weird because there is no mail at all! LOL Maybe tomorrow! Hey did you ever click on the photos of the block on my blog? You can see more detail that way since it is way enlarged.

O.K. so I left a really super awesome and funny comment here awhile ago and it vanished...probaly went to the place where my lost socks are...

((Frustrating!!))

ANYWAY, Lovely, terrific and beautiful. Lucky girl. What a fun thing for you and Melissa to do!

TattingChic said...

Your lost socks went to the mysterious world of zeroes and ones? WOW!!! How did you manage that?

But seriously folks, I'm glad one of your comments finally made it here. Thanks for visiting, Sherry :)

This is so gorgeous. I have always wanted to learn how to tat. It's the Scandinavian in me! We have a wonderful celebration called Hostfest in the fall in my town. So many wonderful crafters and lots of gorgeous lace!

TattingChic said...

Elle, thank you for visiting and for your comment. Your town festival sounds like a wonderful event. I love going to festivals that are like that. How fun!
If you are ever serious about learning to tat let me know if I can help...point you in the right direction, so to speak.
