Happy All Saint's Day!

Happy All Saint's Day! I don't know that much about this particular holiday. My Mother told me about it as a child so I do know it falls on every November 1st! You can read more about it here. There's also a 2009 movie with the same name that I shall probably never see and hadn't heard of until I Googled "All Saint's Day" and found a bunch of links leading to the trailer.

In honor of it being Fall and all I thought I'd finally start on my Autumnal decorating! So many of you have shown your inspiring fall decor! I am getting off to a rather slow start. I started with grabbing what was closest to me...my tatting! I also had a ceramic pumpkin hidden close by. The autumn wreaths and goodies are in the storage closet so it may be closer to Thanksgiving when I have those out, LOL!

Let me show you my start on the fall decor!

Here are my tatted fall leaves around
the pumpkin! They are on my
coffee table.

You may recall my
blog post about the tatted fall leaves
last Autumn!

The pumpkin holds a candle!

The lit candle gives off the most heavenly
pumpkin scent!

Mmmmm...delicious!

❀✿❀

Speaking of deliciousness I have received
3 tasty tidbits of awards from
the lovely Bella Sinclair of
Bella Sinclair Doodlespot!

❀✿❀

The 1st award is the
Deborah Award
created by Ces!

The Deborah Award was created to honor a dear sisterfriend who is forever blowing kisses – “poet, friend, not just a mother but a soldier’s mother, too. Oh, the sleepless nights, the anxiety and worries, yet she is perpetually pleasant and cheerful, kind and gentle, diplomatic and tactful. She exudes courage, hope, and faith."

❀✿❀

The 2nd award is the
Arija award!
It was also created by Ces.

The Arija award was created to honor another sisterfriend: “a thinking, seeing, feeling, loving person who celebrates life every day. She is an artist, a photographer, a fascinating woman with great sense of humor, wise and thoughtful blogger and a loving and caring friend."

❀✿❀

Thirdly, the last award is
The friendship award!

The Friendship Award was created the wonderful
Kathi of Beautiful Mini Blessings.
Kathi creates incredible miniatures and is in the process of renovating a dollhouse as masterfully as any craftsman-carpenter on This Old House.

Thank you, Bella!

I shall bestow these lovely gifts
with some friends who bless my life!

Tattycat
Kim
Lady ShuttleMaker
Celestina Marie
Marie Antoinette

...and of course there are many more but those
are the ones foremost on my mind at the moment.

To quote Bella Sinclair herself
in the comments of my last blog post:

"...I have a few awards for you. No pressure, no obligation. Just my appreciation for you. :)"

Good one, Bella! I like that!
I think I'm going to borrow that phrasing when
I notify these sweet ladies of their awards!

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog on All Saint's Day 2009! Whatever you do to celebrate the saintliness or friendship in your life I hope you are having a lovely day! Mine is filled with light and the sweet scents of a pumpkin candle!

Ahhhh~

Oh, do say hello! I love it when you do that! I really do!

"I Was Strolling Through The Blogs One Day...

In the merry merry month of May ...er...June...I mean July
I was taken by surprise
By a giveaway that caught my eyes!
In the merry merry month of July!"

How many of you remember that silly song from childhood called "While Strolling Through The Park One Day"? :) If you are not familiar with it I embedded a video from You Tube for your song learning pleasure. This little ditty above is meant to be sung to that tune, LOL!

Thank you, DiversiTune!

Ya gotta love that bouncing ball that shows you what words to sing and when! I have to admit, though, the cadence of the song makes it almost lullaby~ish. I'm used to the tune being sung with much more vim and vigor. You know, it's usually a little faster than this version here (but it gives you the idea if you are not familiar with this song).

~*~

Okay, back to my little ditty at the
start of this blog post. I know it's corny! LOL!
I've only claimed that I love to write poetry.
(See my blogger profile)
I never said I was any good at it, LOL!

***

So, here are some things I spied
while strolling through the blogs one day!

***

I found my way to a
Mad Tea Party
that was hosted by the lovely
Vanessa Valencia of A Fanciful Twist.

One of the party goers was
Chrisy of Sophism Press!
Later, I was surprised to see that I won this

Chrisy is a talented artist!
She also sent this lovely print
of her own artwork called "Star Gazing"It is available in her Etsy Shop
called Artdecadence .

Thank you, Chrisy!

***

Next, I strolled over to Angela's
at The Country Cellar! I was surprised to see that
I won this toile apron!
I think that toile is such a pretty fabric!
That pocket is perfect to slip some tatting into!
Thank you, Angela!

***
Okay, 2 APRONS in less than one month?
What is the universe trying to tell me?
That I need to start cooking more?
***
Next to be spied on my travels
was the Uber Amazing Blog Award from Snap!
Thank you, Snap from Tales From Twisty Lane!

The Uber (synonym to Super) Amazing Blog Award is a blog award given to sites who:
- Inspire you
- Make you smile and laugh, or maybe give amazing information
- A great read
- Has an amazing design
- Any other reasons you can think of that make them Uber amazing!

The rules of this award are:
- Put the logo on your blog or post.
- Nominate at least 6 blogs
- Let them know that they have received this Uber Amazing award by commenting on their blog.
- Share the love and link to this post and to the person you received your award from.

Who to share it with? This is never easy!
There are TOO many people to share it with.
I will share this award with:

1) Bella from Bella Sinclair

2) Ces from Ces and Her Dishes

3) Carolyn from Draffin Bears

It's only 3-I'm cheating! Shhhh!
Don't tell the blog award rules police!

No, wait I think I may just give it away
to the 2 people I just won giveaways from!
YES!
That gives me 2 more peeps.

4) Chrisy from Sophism Press

5) Angela from The Country Cellar

Okay that's 5...I'm getting closer.
Can you see how painful this picking
award winners is for me?
(I just don't want anyone to feel left out!)

I could just give it back to Snap!
Yeah! Snap, ;) right back atcha bloggy pal!
Okay that makes winner #6!
Well, watta ya know? I stuck with
the rules anyhow! LOL!

***

The final award was found when
I strolled on over to Ces'
place at Ces and Her Dishes
She mentioned to me that she had
an award for me!Thank you, Ces!

Here is what Ces has to say about
The Bella Sinclair Award:

"I designed this award to celebrate art in the blogs and to honor the value of friendship, sisterhood, sharing and caring. It is to be awarded to the gifted, accomplished, eloquent and talented blogger whose friendship and influence inspire us to do our best. That I named it after Bella Sinclair is because she epitomizes all of these things. She is an inspiration to many of us."

She also says,

"Ces created the Bella Sinclair Award in honor of Bella Sinclair exceptional woman and brilliant artist who epitomizes the concept of the artist as inspiration, of sisterhood, caring and sharing. It is symbolized by the Quercus lobata or Valley Oak, a handsome and graceful tree with a sturdy trunk, upto 5 ft in diameter and 120 feet tall, the largest western deciduous oak"

Some of you may recall that Bella Sinclair
and I are good friends and participated
in a friendship exchange earlier this year!
I am deeply honored that Ces would share
this award with me! You see Bella has
gone through a difficult time recently with
the loss of her dear husband only days before
a transcontinental move. I'd like to encourage
my blog friends to go to her blog post
about it here and offer your support.

*

I would like to share this award with
Enlightened By Angels
Okay, okay, I know she's my niece and everything.
Some of you may even see this as blatant nepotism :x
...and it very well may be, LOL! However,
I do think that in the short time (and two posts)
that she has been blogging with us she has
quickly embraced the value of friendships
in blogging and the sharing and caring that
exists amongst us here in blogland.
Go visit her blog! I think you'll agree!

So, Enlightened By Angels, I hope
you go and start "spreadin' the love" some more by
sharing this award with other bloggers!

~*~

Thank you for strolling with me through the blogs today! Ya know, it sure seems like I win a lot of blog giveaways. Is it just me that thinks that? Why do you think that is? Do I have extremely good luck? I wish I had this kind of fabulous luck in my 3-D life, LOL! Some of you have suggested that I buy lottery tickets. I want you to know that I'm seriously considering it, LOL! How would it be! What would you do if YOU won the lottery? I know I'd buy more tatting thread, (tee hee)!

Oh, I have a poll you can click on. It's at the top of my right sidebar {which becomes the top of the footer (bottom of blog) when you're on the main page of this blog}. I did the same poll when I first started this blog, but I'm doing it again just for fun!

So, as you continue on your stroll through the blogs in the merry merry month of May June July I'd love to hear from you, too!

Sincerely,

XOXO

Too Much Fun!!!

After reading this post you may think this post would be more appropriately titled "Too Much Time On My Hands". This post is proof positive of that.

~*~

I took a photo from this post
and cartoonized it!

Click on the photo above to go to www.befunky.com.
Cool, huh?
Have YOU ever seen cartoonized tatting before?
Neither have I!
Thank you, Becky, for showing me
this total time-waster! ;)
It was TOO much fun!

~*~

Next, I won an award

from Val's Simple Passions: Thank you, Valerie!

Here's what Valerie had to say,

"TattingChic's blog is often complete

with poems, songs and even little video clips,

not to mention the photos that illustrates

her tatting and other experiences. So interesting!"

Gosh, Val, thanks! I'm honored!

It comes with some rules:

1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.

2.Put a link to the person who sent you the award

3. Nominate 10 blogs.

4. Put a link to their blogs.

5. Leave a message for your nominees

*****

BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!

I just checked my Google Reader.

I have 396 blogs that I've subscribed to.

I have 396 favorite blogs!!!

I'm not following the rules. Yup, I feel rebellious

today toward award rules.

I am following the first two rules on this one and then that's it;

I'm sharing it with everyone! Yes, I'm doing the "cop-out".

Is that wrong? LOL! ;)

Are the "blog-award-police" going to come

after me? What will happen if they do?

I'll keep you posted if that happens!

*****

Honestly, I just don't want anyone to feel left out.

*****

Once, again, thank you, Valerie!

This is a very cute award and Valerie was very sweet

to think of me. It also means a lot!

It's also a fun fact that Heart's Desire Jewelry

that awarded it to Valerie is someone that I won

a giveaway gift from during OWOH.

It IS a small world, after all!

~*~

Does this post seem like I have a little too much time on my hands to you? Maybe I'm feeling better? I will be going back to work today, thank heavens! I am so bored from Daytime TV! I have this blog post scheduled to publish while I'm at work. Why? Because it's TOO MUCH FUN to pre-schedule a blog post! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and I'd love to hear from you so feel free to leave a comment, s'il vous plait!
Bye~for now,

Gifts From The Heart

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my bloggy friends? Oh, I probably mention it EVERY single blog post, don't I!? Aside from your comments (which I cherish - each one) I have also received some other kinds of gifts from bloggy friends!

First of all, my treat for the day was a phone call from my very dear bloggy buddy, Laura, from Laura's Tatting Muse! Laura, you absolutely made my day! Thank you so much. Those of you who aren't familiar with Laura's beautiful talent, please click on her blog link above. I've mentioned her before when we did a swap. She is a very talented tatter. Not only is she talented in tatting and other arts; she has a heart of gold, too! She's proven that she's not a "fair-weather friend", too! She's there during the rough patches and I am so appreciative of that. Today was the first time I got to hear her sweet southern accent on the phone! What a comforting treat! Thank you, Laura! What a comfort it was to chat with you today and you really cheered me up when I was feeling down from not feeling well. You can read Laura's post about our chat here.

I'd like to share some other gifts from bloggy friends, too, if I may!

~*~

Judy B is a very talented stitcher that I met
(For those of you that are familiar with
the Ning social networks this is one for needlework
of all kinds. They even have a group for lace-work
that some tatters have joined.)
Judy has a blog called Virtual Quilter.
WOW! Can this lady put out the
quilt patterns! Just check it out! You will
be blown away with ALL the quilt patterns
she has posted! She's a quilt pattern making
MACHINE! She generously sent me
some of her pattern books all the way
from Australia! Isn't that sweet!?
Here are the books she sent:
As you can see one is for a quilted centerpiece for
a double wedding ring "beaded necklace" pattern.
I have always wanted to learn quilting
The other book is for making tassels. It calls for
cotton crochet thread...hmmmmm...let me
see if might be able to drum up some of that
around here! LOL! ;)
I've also always wanted to learn how to make tassels!
This is awesome!
She also sent this lovely card with lavendar on it!

She had the sweetest note inside:
She sent it - "just because"!
Thank you, Judy B!

Psssstttt...
...fellow tatters...
...Judy has mentioned
wanting to learn to tat so
any support we can give her
would be awesome!
Tee hee!!!

~*~

Speaking of gifts from blogging friends, Denise,
from Couture de Papier has kindly awarded
me with this lovely friends award!
Thank you, Denise!
Denise is a very talented paper artist!
You will love her whimsical paper art pieces if
you like whimsy and shabby chic!
I think I'll share this award with a few tatting bloggers:
Mona from Love For Art
Copy and save the award and enjoy, ladies!
You can pass it on if you would like!

~*~
With all this sharing going on I thought I'd share a
few things with all of you!

First, here's some food for thought:
Did you know that NOTHING rhymes with orange!?!
These are the kinds of deep thoughts I have while
on muscle relaxants and being left alone for long periods
of time whilst not feeling well, LOL!
~*~
And now, my "real" gift to you...
...a free tatting decorating tip!
Fill your apothecary jar with tatting thread you
happen to have lying around!
I used DMC size 80 balls of thread.
Just look!
The Spring colors make for a cheery sight!

It's a great accent with that ceramic
egg carton that you may already
have filled with thread, LOL!

;)

Hee Hee!
**wink**wink**
~*~
Thanks again, for letting me share my silly self with all of you here in blogger land! I appreciate your friendship and look forward to hearing what you have to say. I also look forward to visiting your blogs, as well! Hope that you are having a fabulous week. I may not be feeling so well, but I am counting my blessings and doing my best to stay positive because I know that negativity tends to worsen pain. I'm grateful for my job and wonderful co-workers, my God-given talents, friends and people who are like family to me. I'm also very grateful for my faith in God! I do not know what I would do with out it!
Bye for now,

Now That Easter Has Passed...

...we get on with life-as-usual fairly quickly.

~*~

The Easter lights have all burned low.
The bunny that was solid chocolate...
(Notice the past tense)
Italic

...is long gone.

Please forgive the choclatey macabre;
those of you with sensitive minds.

I just wanted to show the luxurious solid cholatey-ness.

~*~

On a lighter note;
I worked a little bit on this project:
...well, okay, I just thought about working on it.
I ended up just eating more chocolate, tee hee!

~*~

I also got an award I'd like to share with you.
Earlier, I got this from Summer Sadie. Thank you, Summer Sadie!

Then, back in March Lynn B
gave me this fabulous award:

(secretly, I have been coveting this award

because it's, well, FABulous! Thanks, Lynn!)

I think I'll share these awards with:
(Have you SEEN how many comments this girl gets on EACH post?)
Carolyn from Draffin Bears
Actually, ALL of you leave fabulous comments
and have fabulous blogs so it's hard to just pick a few.
**************
BLOG FLASH!
**************
Right when I was clicking on "publish"
for this post Elyse left the sweetest comment on
She offered me her "Treasured Blogger" award!
cottage - treasured blogger

Thank you, Elyse! What an honor!

I will put this in a place of honor on my sidebar!

~*~

Thank you for stopping by. I haven't been feeling well today. I had to stay home from work due to another migraine (maybe it was all that chocolate, LOL!) and other health issues that I deal with on occasion. I am grateful for my bloggy friends to keep me company on days like this. Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without all of you! Feel free to leave a comment and let me know how you are doing, how your Easter was or just say hello! I always love a "hello". Your comments mean a lot to me! :)
Thanks,
TattingChic

The Easter Bunny Came Early To My Blog!!!

Thanks for the bunny, Linda from Somewhere in Time
***
Can you believe that Easter Bunny? He really got carried away! He dropped off all these fabulous giveaway prizes on my bloggy doorstep! It was so nice of him to make sure I was the recipient of some wonderful goodies and send them my way!
If you want to know the source for any of the images, just click on the photo and it will take you to that blog post!

Here's the current addition to my "stash"!
~*~
I think I'll approach this in an orderly manner.
First since "Awards" come before "Blog Giveaway"
alphabetically we'll see the Awards first! LOL!!
~*~

Let's see the awards in order of appearance!
These are two very special awards!
First of all, they were each created by the person
who passed them on to me!!!

Lastly, they are both dear bloggy friends and
both very talented gals!

***
Lady ShuttleMaker gave the "Blog Queen Award": Here is what Lady ShuttleMaker has
to say about the making of her award:

" The "Blog Queen" award recognizes female bloggers who are:

1. SEASONED; She has blogged for at least one year.
2. PROLIFIC; She writes several posts each month.
3. FUNNY; She make us smile with her witty humor.
4. ADDICTIVE; She keeps us coming back for more.

You may accept this award or not.
There are no rules to follow.
You may pass it on as you please.
This is just to let you know that you make my day!"

Thank you, Lady ShuttleMaker!

It makes my totally makes my day to

receive such a lovely award!

I would like to share this award with

Bella Sinclair of Bella Sinclair Doodlespot

Lori of My Faerie Window

Karen of A Scrapbook of Inspiration

Now, go out and crown the blogging

masses, oh, royal award!

***

From Bella Sinclair this is the "The Renee Award": Here's what Bella has to say about why she created this award:

"This one is meaningful to me in three profound ways. Firstly, it was created in honor of Renee, one human being who has made such a difference in the lives of many just by being. Her honestly, wit, intelligence, and grit are a tremendous source of inspiration. She can elicit raucous laughter and guffaws in her banter, and then turn right around and offer the most heartfelt, gentle words of wisdom and emotional support. She is a spreader of love, simple and true. And her love is infectious.
Secondly, this award was created in collaboration with one of my best friends, Ces. She is, in Renee's own words, truly original. She is an incredible artist, both in pen and ink and paint. She is fiery passion with a gentle hand. She is laughter, fun, joy, intellectual stimulation, a sister. The concept and design of the award belong to Ces.
Thirdly, this is a brand new award, and I have the pleasure and honor of spreading the seed, watching it grow. I hope it finds its way to those who are like Renee: the acorn, a small package becoming a tall and sturdy oak giving more acorns, becoming tall and sturdy oaks, giving acorns…"

Thank you, Bella! I am deeply honored and touched

that you would share this award with me!

I pass this award to some people who have

shared many acorns with me and others.

Lady ShuttleMaker of Tatting Tales

Laura of Laura's Tatting Muse

Tatskool of Tat's a Kool Challenge

Carol of Carol's Little Treasures

Marilee of Yarnplayer Arts

Now go forth, little acorn award!
Spread forth amongst the tatting blogs like the mighty oak!

~*~

I really like that these awards didn't have any "rules".

You can pass it on or not. You can pass it on to as many or

few as you want. It's very cool!

~*~

Now for the giveaways:
We'll take a look at them in order
of appearance (of the winning announcements), as well!

Firstly,
Denise Felton of Needlework News at Craftgossip.com
had a giveaway for this book.
She picked a winner!
Guess who was lucky #7??? Hee hee!
Thanks, Denise!

***

Next,
Joy at Cupid's Charm had a Marie Antoinette giveaway.

The giveaway prize is for a large Marie Antoinette Charm
It was a "secret giveaway" ...shhhh!

Joy had a series of Marie Antoinette themed posts
and in order to enter you could comment on
any post! She purposefully didn't say which post
she would be picking the winners from!

She had 3 lucky winners and lucky me got to be one of them!
Just LOOK at this graphic!!!
The lady is holding a knotting shuttle!
You can tell it's a knotting shuttle
because of its large size. Knotting was very
popular in the 1700's amongst royalty
and aristocracy which is consistent with
the lady's dress. Knotting is considered
by many to be the "mother" of tatting!
Thank you so much, Joy! I LOVE IT!!!
Knotting shuttles are just like
tatting shuttles, except for their size,
knotting shuttles are much larger.
This image is going to have a permanent
place of honor on my sidebar!
Thanks, Joy!

***
Last, but not least,
Wendy at Umi&Tsuru
Had a giveaway in March for this blue tatted heart:

Wendy has a very fun and cute way of picking
winners for her monthly giveaways.
She has 2 kitty cats. One is named Tsuru,
the other Umi, and both are adorable.
She has Tsuru pick out the winners names each month.

This is Tsuru picking the winning name.
(See the kitty treats mixed in with the names? LOL!)

Look at that adorable face! Thanks, Tsuru!

You're my new best friend! ;)
Oh, and Umi, you're pretty special, too!
(can't forget Umi ~ the other kitty cat!)

This is the second time that Tsuru
has picked my name for one of Wendy's giveaways!
The first time, I won some pretty tatted butterflies.

Thanks, Wendy and Tsuru (and Umi)!

~*~

Thanks for stopping by and letting me celebrate my recent bloggy good luck with you! I'd love to hear what you have to say so feel free to leave a comment before you leave.
Now, just in case you are wondering how you can win some giveaways, too, I have this to share: Enter the giveaways! Umi&Tsuru has monthly giveaways with often less than 10 entries! There's a great chance to win some beautiful tatting! Cupid's Charm has giveaways every so often and she makes beautiful charms! Needlework News often has posts about giveaways on various needlework blogs around blogland as well as some of her own! Go, enter, and who knows, you might win!!!I hope you are all gearing up for a wonderful Easter weekend!

Love,
TattingChic
xoxo
P.S. In regards to the lovely vintage Easter graphic I cannot recall which lovely blogger offered it as a gift to their readers. If it was you, or you know who it was, feel free to leave the link to the post that has the image in it and I will gladly credit the generous giver! :)
P.P.S. Thanks Linda! I've credited you for the Easter image and added the link to the photo, as well! :)

The WINNING~EST January Ever!

January can be such a boring, dismal month. Does anyone else agree? It seems like it's kind of a let down after the holiday hiatus of decor and fabulous festivities. It's back to the grinding wheel, back to the dreary everyday stuff...

...except for this January!
THIS January I won some cool stuff! I'm about to show you!
~*~
This is the January snowflake
from Fairiebee!!!
Her blog makes for a nice visit.

It came packaged with the
"manufacturer's label" and everything!
You can read here the pattern,
thread size and everything!
Shall we have a closer look at this little confection?
Awww...isn't it cute!?

~*~

Next, on the Winning Ticket
is this lovely
Blue Coat Girl
that I won from Pat Winter!!!

Let's look at her, shall we?
Isn't she adorable?
Rumor has it she is on her way to me right now!
Thank you, Pat!
I am so honored to win something that you made.
I am a great admirer of Pat's work.
If you haven't seen her work it's worth the time
to visit her blog.
She is a gifted needle artist!
~*~
Last, but not least,
I won an avalanche of awards from
Bella Sinclair!

Since I always right click on awards and
click on "Save Picture as..."
This is what I got, LOL!
Ummmmm...Thanks Bella!
This is certainly worth a mention because if you haven't
taken the time to see Bella's Blog with her
wonderfully whimsical artwork,
then I'd like to suggest you consider
going to visit her blog!
You just might fall in love with her drawings.
She's also a great bloggy friend.
~*~
Thank you for coming by to visit and letting me share my winning January with you! I'd love it if you let said "Hi" by leaving a comment! It's getting late and January is almost over! February is just around the corner. For some of you it has already arrived! By the time most of you have read this it will be here for sure! Here's to a winning February for all of us!
Love,
TattingChic
:)
P.S. Don't forget, there's still time to sign up for the One World One Heart giveaway! You have until February 11, 2009 to sign up by posting a comment on the giveaway post!
